Civil Technician

STG Communications is a growing communications contractor searching for Experienced Civil Technicians. The ideal candidate will be a safety-focused, self-motivated individual with strong work ethics. The individual will be expected to assist the telecom civil foreman in all aspects of planning, prepping, and executing projects for building new sites. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install, connect, and test underground and above ground grounding systems.
  • Moderate flat-work concrete forming, pouring, and finishing.
  • Carpentry and miscellaneous trade skills.
  • Landscaping, grading, and fencing, as necessary.
  • Load/unload trucks, haul and hoist materials.
  • Operate various hand and power tools.
  • Maintain a safe jobsite.
  • Assist team on completing tasks.
  • Operate light equipment (mini excavator, skid loader).

Qualifications

  • Background and MVR check.
  • Pass drug test and pre-employment physical.
  • Achieve and maintain required certifications and training.
  • Telecom or construction experience preferred but will provide on the job training as needed.
  • Commercial/residential electrical experience preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, details, and specifications.
  • Cald-weld or other thermos-weld training a plus.
  • AC/DC power and back up battery system experience a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
  • Travel.
  • Receive and follow directions.
  • Good communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed.

Physical Demands

  • Stand for long period of time.
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Travel 50% of the time.
  • Work in all weather elements.

Schedule: Monday to Friday with weekend availability

Experience: 1 year Telecom (preferred)

License/Certification: Driver's License (preferred)

Willingness to travel: 50% (required)
